Baby Smith is healthy!

I had a doctor's appointment last week and things are well. I am 27 weeks and counting. Hard to believe I only have 12 weeks left. I will be delivering baby at 39 weeks by scheduled cesarean. Date is looking like March 9th. Baby's heart rate is 168 and strong. I had an ultrasound last week and everything is fine.

Sweet Pea is already stubborn. Baby Smith is giving me pain with my internal scars from surgery. Baby is preferring my left side and I am having a little tearing. Normal for me, but sometimes painful.

I am constantly feeling kicks and movement, which is so much fun! Matt is frustrated because he can only feel it once in awhile.

Boy or Girl?

I finally convinced Matt he didn't need to know if the baby was a boy or girl. We had an ultrasound this week....that isn't to say that he tried to see if there was a wee willy winky. The tech was running so far behind she breezed us through and we have no clue. Yeah!

Evansville Tornado

We are glad to report that everyone that we know is ok. The Tornado in Evansville struck the far east side. It hit a lot of Newburgh and Boonville. From the rumor mill we have heard that it lifted right before Gentryville, so I was glad that Mom and Dad were ok too.

It seems that national news it making this out to be some forceful, but tiny Tornado, but it appears to have stayed on the ground for almost 40 miles. Pretty amazing.

Also, Evansville is in Indiana no Illinois as Fox News keeps reporting incorrectly on their screen. Also, Evansville is not a farming community. It is the 4th largest city in Indiana behind Gary, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis.

We are truly in shock and are praying for all of those families that lost a loved one and for those that were hurt from this Tornado.

Baby Update

All is fine in Smith Baby world. I am 21 weeks. Yesterday was a rough day. I felt a little sick, but overall I have been fine. A little tired, being not really hungrgy, and back pain are the only complaints that I have.

The baby's room is decorated and furniture is in place.

We are having a scheduled Cesarean Section in March. We are going to be going to baby care classes, baby first aid, and a Cesarean education class in January.

We already picked out our pediatrician and toured their office. Very nice and right next to Matt's work.

We are on 2 waiting lists for day care and I am still looking for 2 other alternatives just in case.

Can you tell I am a planner? Except for the fact that I want to be surprised if it is a girl or a boy. I think it is just so much more fun if you don't know.

Baby News

For those of you who don't know...Matt and I are having a baby. We are 19 weeks along.

We are not going to find out the sex of the baby, but have narrowed down the names to either
Jacob Montogmery Smith or Madelyn Belle Smith.

The baby "sweet pea" and I have been pretty healthy. Just a little back pain so far and just a little nausea. Pretty easy so far. I am really starting to show. I will have to post some pregnancy pictures soon.

Moving to Santa Claus, Indiana?

I got a call from Alex Mlsna that he was looking at taking a job in my hometown of Santa Claus, Indiana. How wierd is that. A true city boy may becoming a country bumkin. =)

This weekend

Matt's Mom and Dad are visiting this weekend. We are taking them on the boat tomorrow. It should be a good time. Matt and Mark are going to go fishing (of course).

I get to go to the Contemporary Arts Center downtown today (7/8/05). Our whole department is taking a field trip. From what I hear...I don't think I am going to really enjoy it. Way too contemporary for me. I am just a simple country girl at heart.

Thunder on the Ohio

Matt was in Evansville last weekend for Thunder on the Ohio. He went with his usual Thunder pal Bruce Collins. He had a good time and is a little sunburnt. I stayed in Cincinnati. I went shopping with friends and painted our upstairs bathroom. I was glad I didn't go to Thunder. It was just too hot for me.

Matt is the whole weekend of the 4th of July...so there will be no exciting boat stories to tell.

Camping at Patoka

We went camping at Patoka this weekend. It was a wet trip, but lots of fun. We met up with Michelle, Shawn, Chris, Rachel and Austin. Matt and Shawn fished Sat. morning and then we went swiming and tubing later in the day. We are all sunburned even though it was a cloudy day.

Saturday evening the downpour started. We played Eucher and waded through the muck. We was fun loading up everything in the rain, but a trip that we will all remember. =)

Matt and I loved the camp site and the lake. I am sure that we will go back here many times.

FedEx

Why is it that FedEx never just leaves your packages. I have signed off to have them leave them and had the sender sign off so that they do not require signatures. Still they leave that sticky card on my front door asking for a signature and delaying my delivery. Why?

Hot or Not

One of Matt's co-workers put him on the Hot or Not website. Check this out:

http://www.hotornot.com/r/?eid=BRGMGRS&key=DXX
http://www.hotornot.com/r/?eid=BRGMGRS&key=DXX

The last one is when he fell off the back porch and broke his collar bone. I thought the people in the Urgent Care where thinking I beat him up or he was in a bar brawl. Pretty funny stuff.

I then in turn put my nephew on the site too:

Tumbledown

Mt. Tumbledown in Maine is an awesome place to visit and climb a mountain. There are tons of trails and beautiful scenery. There is a Mt. Tumbledown Conservation Alliance that preserves the land and trails. It is a very tough climb, but worth the visit.
