Bicycle Accident

This one is for my dad.....(Thank you to Cathy Cooper for sending this to me).....

The pastor asked if anyone in the congregation would like to express praise for answered prayers. A lady stood and walked to the podium.

She said, "I have a Praise. Two months ago, my husband, Tom, had a terrible bicycle wreck and his scrotum was completely crushed. The pain was excruciating and the doctors didn't know if they could help him."

You could hear a muffled gasp from the men in the congregation as they imagined the pain that poor Tom must have experienced.

"Tom was unable to hold me or the children," she went on, "and every move caused him terrible pain. We prayed as the doctors performed a delicate operation, and it turned out they were able to piece together the crushed remnants of Tom's scrotum, and wrap wire around it to hold it in place."

Again, the men in the congregation were unnerved and squirmed uncomfortably as they imagined the horrible surgery performed on Tom.

"Now," she announced in a quavering voice, "thank the Lord, Tom is out of the hospital and the doctors say that with time, his scrotum should recover completely."

All the men sighed with relief. The pastor rose and tentatively asked if anyone else had something to say.

A man stood up and walked slowly to the podium. He said, "I'm Tom."
The entire congregation held its breath.....

."I just want to tell my wife that the correct word is sternum."

Women who know their place

Thank you Shannon for sending this to me!

Barbara Walters of ABC's 20/20 did a story on gender roles in Kabul , Afghanistan several years before the Afghan conflict. She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands. She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands. From Miss Walters' vantage point, despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem to walk even further back behind their husbands, and are happy to maintain the old custom..
Ms Walters approached one of the Afghan women and asked, 'Why do you now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?'The woman looked Ms Walters straight in the eyes, and Without hesitation said, 'Land Mines.'
Moral of the story is (no matter where you go)
BEHIND EVERY MAN, THERE'S A SMART WOMAN!

Slump

Have you ever had one of the those weeks where nothing went right for you? Everyone is very negative around you, even the drive thru people accidently give you the wrong order and nothing seems to be going your way??? Well, with all the sick kiddos and adults in our house on top of our bad luck...I have been pretty bummed out.

Someone at my work that I don't even know just did a very kind thing for me. Boy that helped. My silly, positive self is back! Now I just need to pay it forward.
